Meztli is a golden dragon. Born and raised in the Mission district of San Francisco, a product of public schools with a Nicoya mom and a Mexicano dad. Her mom left her alone with a sewing machine at the age of 5 and she ended up at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts in technical theatre/ costume design. Creator since she was young, her parents never said no this is the end result. 

She graduated from the California College of the Arts with a degree in Jewelry/ Metal Arts. She is now working as a middle school art teacher.
